Society spends more time online than ever before, especially on social platforms, for an incredibly wide variety of reasons.
Chat with friends and family. Follow famous figures. Hear the latest news on preferred topics. Get a laugh from a meme. And more!
Companies have stepped up in recent years, seeing it as another avenue to reach their desired audience, promote themselves and connect with customers.
In this still wild and unpredictable corner of the internet, brands can have a more human voice while still maintaining brand identity.
So scroll down and take a look at how I can make a series of posts both professional and playful.
I was given the opportunity to create several posts themed around late fall and winter holidays, designed to go on their Instagram, Twitter and Facebook pages. As a brand that is serious about quality, "Because Pets Are Worth It!" as they say, I focused on depicting dogs and cats happy and having fun - or in other words, enjoying their quality of life thanks to the quality of their food.
This was a freelance project. All posts were created in Canva, using a variety of creative materials and proprietary assets such as logos and packaging art.

As a solemn holiday, I kept the theme serious and the art simple, with silhouettes of a proud soldier and loyal canine so as to honor all who have answered the call.

Here a cat is reminding the viewer that if they haven't already, they should make sure they've done their grocery shopping before the holiday, lest this feline try to steal a bite from the table!

In the spirit of the day, this post expresses appreciation towards the viewer from the perspective of pets, showing gratitude in an amusing way.

Not exactly a holiday, but enough of a time honored tradition to be worthy of waking up the day after the turkey induced food coma. Given the history of this day, Tucker's is wishing the viewer safe shopping.

A classic tale many are all too familiar with, I took the cat's perspective, proclaiming innocence when the truth is reflected in that dilated pupil. But they still deserve delicious Tucker's raw food.
Busting out the warm fuzzies with this adorable pair, this post encourages the viewer to follow their example and get a good night's rest. There will be plenty of excitement tomorrow.

Holiday dress up. Some hate it. Some love it. Some are indifferent. And some only tolerate it knowing there is a reward afterward. For them, it will be tasty Tucker's.
Welcoming the new year can get a little over the top sometimes, so this is a fun reminder to stay safe while enjoying the festivities.
Busy with a massive Buy One Get One sale, they needed an extra pair of hands to create social media posts for the late fall and winter holidays. They also requested that the aforementioned sale be incorporated into the holiday posts where appropriate. With a slogan of "Nutrition is Our Mission", I aimed to make the posts both sophisticated and delightful.

To honor the solemn nature of the holiday, I chose weathered but elegant art, with silhouettes of a proud soldier and loyal canine so as to honor all who have answered the call.

A friendly reminder to the viewer to make sure they are stocked up for the holiday. This excited little guy wants to be sure the humans know there's an awesome sale to help fill any holes in the pantry!

Keeping with the spirit of the gratitude, this post expresses warm appreciation for the precious moments in life, with a little help from a friend eagerly waiting for dinner to be ready.

Wakey, wakey! It's Black Friday and there's deals to be scored - especially this one from Mission Farms, who wishes safe shopping. A furry friend confidently assures the viewer that today will be a great day.
With a playful twist on a couple lines from the classic song "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town," this post reminds the viewer it would be a good idea to make sure they have treats for their furry friend, or else there might be a little holiday mischief.
The family dog will hear the reindeer long before the humans do, and is looking forward to the morning just as much as they are! The cozy scene sets a tone for a peaceful night.

Quick, reward this good boy with Mission Farms for being so patient! He totally deserves it. And we all know he'll happily help unwrap presents too. Truly man's best friend.
Dogs can tell when something big is going on. They may not always understand the how's or why's of it. They just see us making a big deal and want to be a part of it. This post is a reminder to stay safe while having fun.
